Questions before ordering?
Eco-dyed sheepskins offer a more consistent color than naturally varied hides, making them a strong choice when you want a more uniform look for matching chairs, benches, beds, or larger styling projects.
Dyed sheepskins should not be exposed to strong direct sunlight or UV light for long periods of time, as this can cause fading over time.
Shake it out regularly, brush gently when needed, and dry clean if necessary. Avoid soaking, machine washing, or placing dyed sheepskins in prolonged direct sunlight.
Icelandic sheepskin is known for its distinctive Nordic character, natural texture, and beautifully varied wool. Long-wool Icelandic sheepskins are prized for their dramatic 5-9 inch flowing wool, while shorn Icelandic lambskins offer the same natural character in a shorter, softer, lower-maintenance finish.
It can be used beautifully as either. Icelandic sheepskins work well as chair throws, bench covers, sofa accents, bedside layers, and decorative rugs. Long-wool Icelandic sheepskins create a dramatic, flowing look, while shorn Icelandic lambskins offer a shorter wool pile, lower-maintenance finish that works great as a rug or throw.
Icelandic sheepskins are easy to enjoy with simple care. Shake them out occasionally, air them naturally when needed, and keep them away from heavy soil, excess moisture, and high-traffic entry areas. Brush only long, straight-wool Icelandic sheepskins when appropriate. Shorn wool sheepskins rarely, if ever, need brushing — just a quick shake. Curly Icelandic sheepskins should not be brushed at all.

Care & Details

This color is a chameleon and a shape shifter of sorts, think pastel and a light gathering . All pictures are accurate representations of the same sheepskin placed in different lighting and near different colors. We do not recommend pairing this piece with bright colors and orange or red toned wood as it will make this hide appear a striking cool silver, unless that’s what you want.
Best room colors for this sheepskin:
- Warm whites & soft creams
Perfect if you want the sheepskin to feel cozy and luxurious without looking stark. Think ivory walls, cream upholstery, pale oak, linen, and beige accents. - Light gray or greige rooms
This is probably the easiest match. It will blend beautifully with pale gray, mushroom, taupe-gray, and “warm modern” interiors. - Charcoal, black, or deep brown rooms
The pale wool will pop beautifully against darker furniture or floors. Great for a modern chair, leather sofa, or moody bedroom. - Natural wood tones
It looks especially good with pine, oak, walnut, and other woods because the cool gray wool balances the warmth of the wood. - Soft blue-gray or sage rooms
For a Nordic, quiet-luxury look, pair it with muted blue-gray, eucalyptus, sage green, or dusty green walls/textiles.
