Many of the sheepskins in our Unrepeatable Collection are individually selected and photographed. The piece shown is the exact piece available, allowing you to view its color, markings, wool texture, shape, and proportions before it arrives in your home.
These are not standardized reproductions or manufactured designs created to appear natural. They are authentic, one-of-a-kind hides shaped by breed, landscape, climate, and the individual characteristics of the animal.
Once an unrepeatable sheepskin has been chosen, there will never be another exactly like it.
Rooted in Comfort
Noryageur began in 2018 with a personal search for natural warmth and comfort.
When a high-quality sheepskin first entered our family, we discovered something synthetic materials had never fully replicated. Its warmth felt natural rather than heavy. Its softness created an immediate sense of ease, while its texture quietly transformed the surrounding space.
That experience became the foundation of Noryageur.
What began with a single sheepskin developed into a thoughtfully curated collection for those who value natural materials, lasting comfort, distinctive interiors, and objects with an identity of their own.
Today, our sheepskins are used throughout the home—layered across beds and sofas, draped over favorite chairs, placed beside fireplaces, styled beneath coffee tables, arranged as statement rugs, and enjoyed wherever additional warmth and softness are desired.
Responsibly Sourced Natural Materials
The sheepskins we offer originate from domesticated flocks raised within established agricultural traditions.
The hides are byproducts of existing food, dairy, wool, and lanolin industries. The animals are not raised for their skins alone. By preserving and professionally finishing each hide, a natural material that might otherwise be discarded is given a lasting and useful purpose.
We primarily source from Europe, where sheep farming, wool production, and traditional lamb and dairy industries have existed for generations. These regions also provide access to experienced tanneries with the specialized knowledge required to preserve the softness, beauty, and natural integrity of genuine sheepskin.
The vast majority of our collection is completely natural and undyed, preserving each hide’s authentic coloration and individual character. We also offer a select assortment of eco-dyed sheepskins, chosen for their exceptional quality, refined color, and design versatility.
