Description
Ecru & Brown Naturally Spotted Icelandic Sheepskin Rug – 50″ × 29″
A long, slender Icelandic hide in warm ecru with naturally occurring brown spotting. The proportions make it especially easy to drape across a narrow bench, chair or the side of a bed while retaining enough presence for a small accent rug.
Raised in Iceland’s clean, open landscape, these sheep develop the long, expressive wool for which the breed is prized. Every hide carries its own variation in curl, color and marking — subtle evidence of a natural material shaped by place rather than manufacture.
The base is never a stark optic white. Think ecru, ivory and the quiet warmth of unbleached cream — the kind of neutral that settles naturally into a room. Against it, nature lays its signature in markings that can move from black-brown and deep chocolate to softer brown or gray.
As with genuinely natural curly hides, you may notice tiny flecks of leather nestled within the curls. They are a normal hallmark of an authentic hide and a reminder that this is a real natural material, not a manufactured imitation.
These hides are especially beautiful as chair, sofa, bench or bedside throws, and many are equally at home as small accent rugs. Their organic shape softens straight lines and adds texture without visual heaviness.
Organically raised. Ethically sourced. One of a kind.
