Questions before ordering?
Eco-dyed sheepskins offer a more consistent color than naturally varied hides, making them a strong choice when you want a more uniform look for matching chairs, benches, beds, or larger styling projects.
Dyed sheepskins should not be exposed to strong direct sunlight or UV light for long periods of time, as this can cause fading over time.
Shake it out regularly, brush gently when needed, and dry clean if necessary. Avoid soaking, machine washing, or placing dyed sheepskins in prolonged direct sunlight.
Icelandic sheepskin is known for its distinctive Nordic character, natural texture, and beautifully varied wool. Long-wool Icelandic sheepskins are prized for their dramatic 5-9 inch flowing wool, while shorn Icelandic lambskins offer the same natural character in a shorter, softer, lower-maintenance finish.
It can be used beautifully as either. Icelandic sheepskins work well as chair throws, bench covers, sofa accents, bedside layers, and decorative rugs. Long-wool Icelandic sheepskins create a dramatic, flowing look, while shorn Icelandic lambskins offer a shorter wool pile, lower-maintenance finish that works great as a rug or throw.
Icelandic sheepskins are easy to enjoy with simple care. Shake them out occasionally, air them naturally when needed, and keep them away from heavy soil, excess moisture, and high-traffic entry areas. Brush only long, straight-wool Icelandic sheepskins when appropriate. Shorn wool sheepskins rarely, if ever, need brushing — just a quick shake. Curly Icelandic sheepskins should not be brushed at all.
Description
Golden Brown Icelandic Sheepskin Rug
Inspired by the warm, inviting tones of our highly sought-after Natural Moorit Icelandic sheepskins, this Golden Brown Icelandic Sheepskin Rug offers a more consistent interpretation of one of nature’s most beautiful color palettes.
Crafted from genuine Icelandic sheepskin and eco-dyed using low-impact, non-toxic pigments, each pelt displays rich golden brown tones with subtle depth and character. Compared to natural Moorit sheepskins, the coloration is generally more uniform, with warm golden hues and fewer of the reddish undertones commonly found in naturally colored Moorit fleeces.
The long, flowing Icelandic wool creates exceptional texture, movement, and softness, making these sheepskins equally beautiful as chair throws, sofa accents, bench covers, or decorative rugs in low-traffic spaces.
One of the greatest advantages of this collection is consistency. While every genuine sheepskin retains its own natural character, the eco-dyed finish allows for a closer color match between pelts. This makes Golden Brown Icelandic Sheepskins an excellent choice for designers, matching pairs, dining chairs, hospitality projects, and larger styling installations where a coordinated appearance is desired.
Naturally breathable, temperature regulating, and remarkably soft, these sheepskins bring warmth, texture, and timeless Scandinavian-inspired style to any interior.
Each skin measures approximately 45″ in length. Photography represents the color and character of this collection. Your sheepskin will be carefully selected to closely match the examples shown.
Care Note: As with all dyed natural fibers, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and UV light may cause gradual fading over time. For best results, we recommend displaying dyed sheepskins away from areas receiving extended periods of direct sun.
